ST. LOUIS — The bottom line is the St. Louis Blues needed a win against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
Having dropped three straight and outscored 15-4, the Blues opened a five-game homestand facing former coach Craig Berube and the Leafs for the second time in 10 days, winning 5-1 in Toronto on Oct. 24.
It was another solid result against the Berube-led Leafs; the Blues won 4-2 but the win may have been overshadowed by the loss of defenseman Philip Broberg, who suffered an unfortunate injury to his right knee when Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner fell on Broberg as the two were battling along the wall.
