One of the most stressful and tedious parts of the Christmas season is of course, gift wrapping. On Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys posted a hilarious video of some of their star players competing in a gift wrapping competition.
The competition featured players going head to head wrapping various objects, complete with wrapping paper and a bow on top. Some of the gifts included a football, cleats, and a Dallas Cowboys helmet.
The first competition had Boys kicker Brandon Aubrey taking on long snapper Trent Sieg, wrapping a Cowboys helmet. Punter Bryan Anger also got in on the action, seemingly helping both players. In defeat, Aubrey accused Sieg of cheating and stealing his tape.
Next we saw a pair of defensive players, as linebacker Buddy Johnson took on edge rusher Chauncey Golston. Their goal: Wrap a football. This contest was a blowout, and the two shared a hilarious handshake where Golston quipped “pleasure doing business with you.”
We got a defense vs. offense battle as receiver Brandin Cooks and defensive end Marshawn Kneeland faced off in a cleat wrapping contest. In terms of time, this was the most tightly-contested contest. Without giving away any spoilers, one player definitely focused on the camera’s view rather than his own when wrapping the cleats, resulting in an all-too relatable wrap job.
While the Cowboys were not selected for the Christmas Day slate this year, they have two games left in this season. They take on the Philadelphia Eagles on December 29 in Philly, and the Washington Commanders on January 5 at home. The Cowboys currently sit 7-8 on the season, and if the season were to end today their pick would land at the 15th spot. There’s a chance with a few losses that the number can jump as high as 11.
