West Brom entertain Middlesbrough in front of the Sky Sports television cameras in their last home match in the Championship before the international break.
The Baggies are in search of a response after suffering a 3-2 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday. Josh Maja and Alex Mowatt scored to get WBA back on level terms but conceded just minutes later, with the Owls giving West Brom their first league defeat of the season.
Despite the defeat, West Brom remained top as Sunderland lost to Watford at Vicarage Road. There’s a chasing pack however, as anyone from Sunderland to seventh-placed Watford could overtake WBA if they lose, and results go agaisnt them.
The games are coming thick and fast ahead of the international break, but thankfully there’s not many injuries or suspensions to contend with for Carlos Corberan. Here’s the latest injury and team news ahead of the midweek clash at the Hawthorns.
West Brom team news
Alex Mowatt only trained with the squad on Friday, after training on his own on Thursday. He came off the bench and scored, before Wednesday restored their lead. Mowatt had been contending with a niggle in his groin, but he didn’t consider it serious, and his goal may have played his way in to the starting line-up.
Daryl Dike is a few weeks off from making a return to action. He is currently working with the coaches and medical team, and should he come through those tests unscathed, he could target a November or December return. The USA striker has been out since February after suffering an Achilles injury, which was the second he had suffered during his time at the Hawthorns, however this was on a different leg from the first.
Midfielder Jayson Molumby was an unused substitute after dealing with a calf injury. He’s back in the manager’s thinking, having started the first five league games of the campaign.

Summer signing Conway isn’t expected to be out long-term, but he suffered an injury in training, which needs to be assessed. Neither he nor Matt Clarke were in the squad for the win against Stoke City, but they aren’t expected to be out long-term.
