The Kentucky Wildcats find themselves on the road for the first time this season to take on the sixth nationally ranked Ole Miss Rebels. The game will be on ABC at noon EST and will feature a Heisman-contending quarterback, Jaxon Dart, for the Rebels. What uniform combination will Kentucky roll out to take on Ole Miss?
This week’s combination is what is known as the “Icy” collection. Basically, this means they will be wearing all white. White helmets, jerseys, and pants. We have yet to see this combination this season and the last time we saw the all-white look was in a 24-3 win over Mississippi State last season. They did get close when they played Louisville in 2023, where the uniforms were all white, but the helmets were chrome.
That game against Miss State last year when they last wore this uniform combo was also the last time they won an SEC game on the road. They are looking for the same sort of energy as they look to knock off Ole Miss today. It will take a complete game for the Wildcats to do it because, through 4 games this year, Ole Miss is firing on all cylinders. They have both the top-ranked offense in yards per game and the top-ranked defense in yards surrendered in a game. Kentucky won’t have much margin for error, and they will need to keep it close.
Historically, this has been a very competitive game. The last three times these teams have played, Ole Miss won by three points or less. In the last matchup in 2022, Kentucky had a chance to win, and Dane Key caught a touchdown pass for the win in the final 40 seconds of the game, but it was called back on an illegal motion penalty. The offense was not completely set before the ball was snapped.
