An Ireland rugby star saved her team-mate from certain injury at the Olympics.
With Team GB up 28-5 with just five minutes remaining, the Brits sent a kick-off deep into Irish territory. Unfortunately, Emily Lane slightly misjudged where the kick would end up as she was held aloft by Erin King.
Reaching for the ball as it flew slightly over her head, Lane caught it well, but began falling head first to the floor, with King holding on by just her shorts.

Using incredible strength, King held Lane aloft and prevented her from sustaining serious injury, and eventually planting her feet back onto the ground.
This moment has racked up an incredible 14 million views on X, formerly known as Twitter, with viewers in awe.

You may remember a very similar moment that happened in the men’s 15s code of the game. Tendai Mtawarira, also known as ‘The Beast’, managed to hold up 6ft 8in, 177 kilogram Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth after he also misjudged the kick placement on a restart, against Argentina.
The Ireland v Team GB match was played on Tuesday, July 30, to decide who placed seventh and eighth in the Olympic sevens. The score was eventually 28-12 to Team GB. New Zealand defeated Canada in the final to secure the gold medal, with the United States taking home bronze against Australia.
