BLOOMINGTON — IU football coach Curt Cignetti is busy this week putting the finishing touches on his first full signing class.
The No. 10 Hoosiers (11-1, 8-1 Big Ten) have 22 verbal commitments for 2025 ahead of Wednesday’s early signing day.
According to Cignetti, IU’s success this year is already having an impact on the team’s recruiting efforts.
“When you win, it opens a lot of doors in a lot of areas, and recruiting is no different. We have definitely reaped the rewards of being successful on the field,” Cignetti said in November. “It’s an ongoing process. We’ve got a signing day coming up here in a couple weeks, and then the portal will hit in December. But everything is on the up-and-up.”
Cigneti has long said IU will be active in the portal once again as it looks to replace key departing seniors on both sides of the ball, but he doesn’t want to always rely so heavily on transfers and this year’s signing class will lay a foundation in balancing out the roster.
