Real Madrid 4-0 Osasuna (Vinícius Júnior x3 & Jude Bellingham). Four goal delight at the Bernabéu. Here is the immediate reaction. Watch out for: Player ratings, post game highlights and the a victory podcast

Tensions were high after consecutive home drubbings against European rivals, so anything but a win today would spell huge trouble for Carlo Ancelotti and his men. The starting line-up was strong because of that, with the usual front three joined by Eduardo Camvinga making a midfield of Jude Bellingham and Fede Valverde. Fran Gárcia started at left-back. Raúl Asencio made the bench from Castilla, who was joined by Brahim Díaz and Dani Ceballos. Lucas Vázquez captained the team again today.

Madrid started on the up, as they needed to. Half-chances from Rodrygo Goes and Kylian Mbappé set the scene – with the best chance before the first goal coming from a Rodrygo blocked long shot. Vinícius Junior is trying to make an early case for the next Ballon d’Or, scoring the opener here with a trademark cut-in before finding the bottom left. Éder Militão had to come off of the pitch with an injury, leaving nobody to take his place but the often poor Raúl Asencio. A defender who is better with the ball than he is without it, this was on demonstration when he played a long ball to Jude Bellingham who lifted it over the keeper to end his personal draught. Half-time, 2-0 to Real Madrid who were cruising ahead.

The second half didn’t take any winds away from home sails. Vinícius Júnior confirmed his second in good time, with another cool finish to add to his collection. A brace wasn’t going to satisfy the Brazilian though, who bagged his hat-trick after being set up by Brahim Díaz. The action dried up after this, with Madrid happy with the 4-0 demolition, and Osasuna happy to leave without conceding more goals. Full-time, 4-0 to Real Madrid – who are back to winning ways in style. Thoughts on the game?
