The NFL world got some expected, albeit long-awaited, news today. Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa agreed to the largest contract in franchise history, a four-year $212.4 million extension. His $53.1 million average salary makes him the third-highest paid quarterback in the NFL behind Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals, both of whom make $55 million per season.
Tagovailoa’s deal is also slightly more lucrative than the four-year $212 million contract that Jared Goff signed with the Detroit Lions earlier this offseason.
Now, the rest of the NFL is awaiting what the contract extensions of Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers) and Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys) will be.
