Simone Biles Admits Struggles Before GOAT Tour
Being one of the most celebrated athletes on the planet does have its downsides. This is exactly the case for 11-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles, who is widely considered the greatest gymnast of all time.
In a recent interview, Biles revealed just how difficult the past several weeks have been for her in terms of trying to balance her schedule. At the moment, the 27-year-old is making her final preparations for the upcoming Gold Over America Tour, aka the GOAT Tour, which is a pop concert-like extravaganza that will showcase Simone’s Olympic journey alongside other U.S. gymnasts.
According to Biles, she’s barely been able to hit the mat since returning home from the Paris 2024 Olympics.
“Truthfully, I’ve only gone into the gym to practice a handful of times because of my schedule,” she told Anna Lazarus Caplan of People. “I’ve barely been home, but my body needed this break, so I’m not mad about it.”
Apart from not being able to practice, Simone also admitted that she hasn’t spent as much time at home as she had hoped. In fact, Biles was not able to attend her husband Jonathan Owens’ first game for the Chicago Bears on Sunday, September 8, due to a scheduling conflict.
Biles was very active on social media throughout the game, though, and she definitely enjoyed Owens’ touchdown in his Bears debut.
Simone also revealed that she’s giving her body a much-needed break following her success in Paris, which saw her bring home three more gold and a silver medal. She needed all the rest she could have gotten now that the GOAT Tour is about to commence. The first stop of the 30-city tour is on September 16 in Oceanside, California, and it won’t end until November 3.
Not only is Simone Biles the GOAT gymnast, but she also deserves a ton of credit for being able to balance her busy schedule with her personal life.
