Simone Biles’ Opinion on the WNBA Hits the Mark After Indiana Fever Game

Posted on August 29, 2024 by admin

U.S. Olympic gymnast Simone Biles made a surprise appearance at the Indiana Fever vs. Connecticut Sun game on Wednesday night, and she was there to cheer on Caitlin Clark and show her support for women’s sports.

It’s been almost a month since the 2024 Paris Olympics wrapped up, where Biles once again wowed the world, bringing home three gold medals and one silver. These latest additions bring her Olympic medal count to an incredible 11.

Wednesday’s game was a nail-biter, but the Fever, led by Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, pulled off a hard-fought 84-80 win. Clark had another great night, finishing with 19 points, five rebounds and five assists.

After the game, the Indiana Fever posted a video showing Biles and Olympic gold medalist track star Gabby Thomas meeting the team and taking pictures. The encounter was so wholesome that both Clark and Biles took to social media to share their thoughts.

“lemme fan girl real quick,” Clark posted.

Biles then emphasized the importance of supporting women athletes and expressed excitement about attending her first WNBA game.

“EVERYONE WATCHES WOMENS SPORTS 🫶🏽 so happy to be able to go support! my first of many WNBA games

It’s no surprise that Biles chose a Fever game as her first WNBA experience. After all, Clark is one of the biggest rising stars in the sport of basketball.

The former Iowa Hawkeye was the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. She’s been a game-changer, boosting attention, ticket sales and merchandise sales for the women’s game.

While we don’t yet know what Biles’ plans are for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are gearing up for their next big matchup against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Friday night, August 30.
