While speaking about his long-term future, the 32-year-old winger said via Fabrizio Romano: “We haven’t talked about anything yet”.
“I am fully focused on this year and just want to win something that everyone at the club deserves”.
“In the future you never know what will happen. I’ll give everything for this club for sure”.
Son Heung-min’s time at Tottenham
The Tottenham skipper made the move to North London back in 2015 after making a name for himself at Bayer Leverkusen. He hasn’t looked back since joining the Premier League club and has been one of their most consistent performers.
In his 414 matches for Spurs, the South Korean attacker scored 164 goals and he even bagged 86 goals. While the majority of his appearances have come on the left flank, he has also been used in a number up top as a number nine in recent seasons.
The 32-year-old took over as their skipper following the departure of Harry Kane in the summer of 2023. He remains an integral part of their first team setup and with four-goal contributions in his first five league outings, Son’s importance in Ange Postecoglou’s team is quite clear.
Son is yet to hold talks with Tottenham
But with his contract running out in 10 months, his future at the club has been uncertain. The South Korean is in the final phase of his career and there are different opinions about handing him a new deal.
Spurs will most likely try to have him around for a few more years at a lower salary. The winger was recently asked about his future to which he replied that he hasn’t held any talks with the North London club yet. He is focused on the job at hand and wants to help end their trophy drought.
While he is not sure about what the future holds, the 32-year-old promises to give his all for the club that has been his home for the past nine years.
