“Would be a good move” – Pundit backs Sheffield United to beat West Brom & Stoke to Leicester City deal

Carlton Palmer

Speaking exclusively to Football League World, Palmer said that if Cannon does not return to Preston this summer, he believes Sheffield United would be the best move for the striker.

“Leicester’s young striker, Tom Cannon, is in demand coming up to the start of the season,” Palmer said.

“Sheffield United, West Brom and Stoke, along with Preston, are keen to acquire his services.

“Steve Cooper has had him in the building over pre-season to have a look at him, but it seems the 20-year-old will be allowed to go out on loan.

“Where do I see him going? I think he’s obviously very keen on Preston, he did really well there, but Sheffield United will be challenging at the top end of the Championship next season.

“You would also expect West Brom to be up there, and Stoke could be dark horses, so any of these sides would be a good move for Cannon.

“But you always look at where you’re going to play your best football, and he did ever so well for Ryan Lowe and Preston, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he heads back there.

“Other than that, if he doesn’t go back there, I would say Sheffield United under Chris Wilder would be a good move for him
